Heritage Ventures is a digital marketplace that enables shared ownership of rare and valuable antiques and collectibles. Through our Fractionalized Offerings, users can acquire “Shards” — digital representations of portions of one-of-a-kind, museum-quality pieces that were historically accessible only to major collectors and institutions. Our mission is to democratize collecting and make cultural heritage more widely accessible. Heritage Ventures physically safeguards listed artifacts through HV-approved custody arrangements, while users retain control of their own self-custodial wallets and digital assets.
Heritage Ventures allows users to buy and trade fractionalized ownership interests, called Shards, in rare physical collectibles. Each Shard is a digital representation associated with a securely held physical antique under the custody of Heritage Ventures or its approved custodial partners.
When an item is accepted for listing, it is delivered by its consignor and placed under the custody of Heritage Ventures or its approved custodial partners. Users can then purchase and hold Shards representing fractionalized ownership interests associated with the piece. A single buyer may Make an Offer to purchase all outstanding Shards. If a submitted Make Offer satisfies the Platform’s predefined eligibility requirements (including applicable price, timing, and compliance conditions), the smart contracts governing the Shards will automatically execute the transfers and distribute proceeds pro rata to Shard holders according to the predefined contract logic. Upon successful execution of the acquisition by the smart contracts and satisfaction of all applicable legal, compliance, and logistical requirements (including KYC on the acquirer), the acquiring user may arrange to take physical possession of the item / removing it from the platform, after payment of the required acquisition amount, including the outstanding Shard value, applicable premium, platform commission, shipping, custody-transfer costs, and any other required fees.
Heritage Ventures physically safeguards listed artifacts through HV-approved custody arrangements, while users retain control of their own self-custodial wallets and digital assets.
Evaluation
Consignors submit their antiques to Heritage Ventures for evaluation. Each piece is assessed by our in-house specialists and, when appropriate, independent appraisers or historians. We require that all items have a clear and legitimate history of ownership. Only after review and acceptance is a piece stored in a secure and insured facility.
Tokenization
Once approved, the antique is represented digitally through our in-house tokenization process. Each token (or Shard) corresponds to a defined percentage of ownership in that antique. When tokenization is complete, the offering appears on the Agora, our marketplace, where users can buy Shards on a first-come, first-served basis and subsequently trade them within the marketplace.
Valuation
The number of Shards and their initial offering price are based on third-party appraisals and comparable market data. Where possible, Heritage Ventures provides documentation, provenance information, and reference prices for similar works. Valuations represent informed opinions of estimated market value based on available data. Market value may fluctuate over time depending on collector demand and market conditions.
Marketplace
On the Agora, users can purchase or resell their Shards within the Heritage Ventures marketplace, subject to platform rules, compliance controls, availability, trading pauses, Integrity Reviews, and other marketplace-integrity protections. Shard prices may fluctuate significantly based on market activity, collector demand, and broader economic conditions.
In rare cases, HV may restrict marketplace visibility or disable Platform-supported trading features for a piece while it reviews an issue.
Yes — but only within the first 10 days of listing.
Here’s exactly what to do:
After review, Heritage Ventures may adjust the initial offering price, modify the Shard count, maintain the original valuation, impose a Marketplace Visibility Restriction, pause Platform-supported activity, or return the item if no third-party Shards have been sold with an explanation provided where appropriate. A user / consignor may raise a dispute once per item. After the 10-day window, the initial valuation and Shard count are generally final for purposes of the initial listing, subject to later corrections or marketplace-integrity actions if new information emerges.
Before any collectible is listed, digital representations of it are created through our proprietary tokenization process. These tokens, or Shards, exist as ERC-1155 digital assets within the Heritage Ventures ecosystem. Each Shard corresponds to a defined fraction of ownership in the physical item and can be held or traded within the Heritage Ventures ecosystem. For eligible acquirable items, a user may submit a Make Offer to acquire all outstanding Shards associated with the piece, subject to the Platform’s predefined price, timing, compliance, and acquisition conditions.
By purchasing or holding Shards of an acquirable item, users expressly consent to the possibility that their Shards may be automatically transferred in connection with a whole-asset acquisition event, with proceeds distributed pro rata to all the Shard holders of that item.
Shards are collectible ownership interests — not financial securities — and their value is speculative. Ownership of Shards does not entitle holders to dividends, profit distributions, governance rights, or any financial return from Heritage Ventures or any issuing entity. Any appreciation in value is the result of collector demand within the marketplace and is not promised or implied by Heritage Ventures.
Yes. Visit our Consignment Page to submit your item. We’ll review your submission based on photos and description. If approved, we’ll agree on a floor price, arrange insured shipping, and take custody of the piece for photography, research, and tokenization.
Until the first Shard is sold to a third party, you may generally cancel the agreement and have your piece returned, subject to applicable shipping, handling, storage, and review costs. After a third-party Shard sale, the piece cannot be unilaterally removed by the consignor. It remains subject to Shard-holder rights, the Platform’s Make Offer process, HV-approved custody requirements, Integrity Review procedures, Marketplace Visibility Restrictions, and any voluntary resolution process HV may offer.
We currently accept items valued at $5,000 or more, including antique arms and armor, fine art, sculpture, glassware, and furniture. As we expand, we plan to include modern collectibles such as firearms, vehicles, and additional categories.
If you believe your item fits our mission, please contact us — we’re happy to evaluate it.
Yes, but this is expected to be rare.
Sometimes new information may emerge after a piece has been listed. This could involve authenticity, attribution, title, provenance, condition, legal compliance, custody, insurance, fraud, market manipulation, or a consignor-related issue.
If that happens, Heritage Ventures may place the piece into an Integrity Review. During that review, HV may pause or restrict Platform-supported activity related to the piece, including public listing visibility, buying, selling, Make Offer eligibility, promotional placement, searchability, or other Agora features.
In more serious cases, HV may impose a Marketplace Visibility Restriction. This means the piece may be hidden, suppressed, disabled, or removed from public-facing areas of the Agora, temporarily or permanently.
A Marketplace Visibility Restriction does not mean HV has cancelled, seized, burned, redeemed, or clawed back user-held Shards. It also does not give HV access to user wallets, private keys, USDC balances, or other self-custodied digital assets. HV controls the Agora interface; users control their own wallets.
Possible outcomes of an Integrity Review may include restoring marketplace visibility, updating the listing, correcting attribution or description, continuing the pause, imposing a Marketplace Visibility Restriction, restricting Make Offer eligibility, cooperating with authorities or insurers, or offering a voluntary resolution process.
If HV determines that continued active marketplace support for a piece is not advisable, HV may restrict or remove the piece from public visibility on the Agora. This may happen because of a legal, authenticity, attribution, provenance, title, custody, insurance, compliance, user-protection, or marketplace-integrity concern.
If this happens, Shards associated with the piece are not automatically cancelled, seized, redeemed, burned, or clawed back by HV. HV does not custody or control user wallets, private keys, USDC balances, or user-held Shards.
In some cases, HV may choose to offer a voluntary purchase or resolution process for affected Shard holders. Any such offer is discretionary, voluntary, and subject to the specific terms provided at the time. HV is not required to make an offer, and a Marketplace Visibility Restriction does not create a general refund right, redemption right, repurchase obligation, price guarantee, insurance guarantee, or make-whole obligation.
If HV does make a voluntary offer, the holder may accept only through the method specified by HV. Any transfer of Shards or related value must occur through user-authorized transactions, Platform-supported functionality, or predefined smart-contract functionality. HV cannot move assets from a user’s wallet without user authorization or applicable smart-contract execution.
All antiques traded on the Heritage Ventures marketplace are held in secure storage facilities under Heritage Ventures’ custody or that of approved partners. Items remain insured while in custody.
We are developing a 24-hour live display room that will allow collectors to view the holdings remotely. In-person viewings may be available to verified buyers by appointment.
When one of your Shards sells, corresponding proceeds are made available through your platform-associated wallet interface, subject to blockchain settlement and payment-processor timing. HV does not take custody of your wallet or private keys and cannot spend or move your funds for you.
A buyer may make an offer to purchase all the outstanding Shards of a piece, using the Make Offer function, their offer will be evaluated against the Platform’s predefined eligibility criteria, including pricing thresholds and compliance requirements before being deemed eligible for processing under the Platform’s acquisition conditions. If the offer satisfies requirements, the Shard smart contracts will automatically execute the transfers according to their predefined logic, allocating funds to Shard holders in accordance with those terms.
Acquisition cost is determined according to predefined valuation methodologies, which may incorporate recent marketplace activity such as rolling volume-weighted averages to determine acquisition cost for outstanding Shards of a piece, together with any premiums, to be distributed pro rata to all Shard holders and the platform, as well as transaction fees. Users initiating a Make Offer transaction are subject to identity verification (KYC) prior to processing, as required by applicable law. Failure to satisfy required compliance or identity verification requirements will render the submission ineligible for processing.
The Shards of certain pieces will be marked with an icon and details in the description indicating that offers can be made for that piece. By purchasing or holding Shards of an MO-enabled piece, the buyer expressly consents (via the Shard smart contract itself at the time of acquisition) to the possibility that their Shards may be automatically transferred if a qualifying Make Offer is successfully executed on the whole piece.
Pieces that can be purchased in this manner will also go through a certain amount of discovery, meaning for a defined discovery period (typically 30–90 days, as specified in the item listing at the time of minting), during which acquisition submissions are not eligible.
No. Each piece listed on the Agora will be associated with an icon (A Museum Consignment Icon), that informs users if the piece can be fully acquired, or not. Note that pieces associated with museums or other foundations may be made available on Heritage Ventures, but may not be fully purchased by collecting all of their shards. Besides their icons, these pieces will also have additional custodial information in their descriptions. Owning Shards of a museum piece does not permit the Shard holder any additional rights to the piece as regards its custody with the consigning institution. Their custody remains paramount and their standards / rules / protocols involving the pieces in question are in no way altered by any amount of Shard ownership.
Yes — for everyone’s protection.
You must complete KYC verification before:
Verification takes 2-5 minutes through our partner Persona: you’ll upload a photo ID and a selfie. Once approved, there are no further checks unless your activity triggers additional review.
HV requires identity verification for certain activity and may be legally required to collect this information depending on the transaction, user, item, and compliance context.
Heritage Ventures designs and offers Shards as collectible ownership interests, not as securities or investment contracts. They do not provide dividends, yield, governance rights, profit distributions, or any right to financial return from HV. Their legal treatment may vary by jurisdiction, and users are responsible for their own legal and tax review.
That said, some countries outside the U.S. might view them differently. You are solely responsible for making sure owning and trading Shards is legal where you live. We recommend you speak with a local lawyer if you are outside the United States.
Heritage Ventures offers access to collectible assets, not securities. Shards are speculative collectibles, and their value may rise or fall. Market demand, historical reassessment, or changing collector trends can all affect resale value.
Participation in the marketplace should be viewed as an opportunity to engage with cultural heritage — not as a guaranteed investment or profit vehicle.
When you consign an item, you give Heritage Ventures permanent permission to use all photos, videos, 3D scans, provenance documents, and written descriptions we create. This lets us display your piece beautifully on the Agora and embed the info directly into each Shard.
When you consign an item, you represent that, to the best of your knowledge after reasonable inquiry, HV’s photography, display, description, tokenization, and marketing of the item will not violate third-party IP, artist estate, foundation, moral-right, resale-right, or contractual restrictions.
If any claim ever arises because that warranty was incorrect, you agree to cover all legal costs and damages.
You must be of the age of majority in your jurisdiction to create an account or use the Heritage Ventures marketplace.
All users agree to our Terms & Conditions, which govern marketplace activity, shard trading, and account management.
Use of the platform constitutes acceptance of those Terms.
When a user acquires all Shards of a listed piece delivery or pickup arrangements will be coordinated through the Platform in accordance with applicable logistics, legal, and custodial requirements.
Domestic shipping within the United States and Canada is generally available. International shipments are handled case-by-case and must comply with all applicable export, import, and cultural-property laws. Please contact us for details.
Not yet—we’re U.S. and Canada only for now, to keep things compliant and simple.

Yes. Bans will be issued for:
We watch on-chain patterns and user reports. First offense may result in a warning, temporary account restriction, or temporary loss of Agora access. Serious violations may result in permanent account termination.
No. Heritage Ventures physically custodies, stores, or arranges custody of the artifact associated with a Shard listing. That is separate from digital-asset custody.
Users control their own wallets. HV does not control private keys, wallet credentials, USDC balances, or user-held Shards. HV cannot spend from your wallet or move your assets for you. To list a Shard, the user authorizes the marketplace and HV’s settlement wallet as an operator to transfer the listed Shards on the user’s behalf when a sale executes.
HV may control what appears on the Agora, including whether a listing is visible, searchable, promotable, trade-enabled, or Make-Offer-enabled through the Platform interface. But controlling the marketplace interface is not the same as controlling user wallets.
Not automatically. In some cases, if a piece is subject to a Marketplace Visibility Restriction or HV determines that continued active marketplace support is not advisable, HV may choose to offer a voluntary purchase or resolution process for affected Shard holders.
Any such offer is discretionary and subject to the terms provided at the time. It is not guaranteed and does not create a general refund, redemption, repurchase, insurance, or make-whole right.
If an offer is made, holders may choose whether to accept it. Any Shard transfer must occur through user authorization, Platform-supported functionality, or applicable smart-contract logic. HV cannot access or move assets from a user’s self-custodial wallet.
Some antiques listed on the Agora are part of museum or institutional collections. These items are designated with a Museum Icon and remain on public display under the custodianship of their respective institutions.
Such listings represent fractional participation rights only; the physical items are not eligible for private delivery.
Full fee breakdown lives here → Section 9A Unified Fee Schedule in the Terms & Conditions.
Everything is shown live before you click ‘Buy’—no surprises.
Very small fees, the equivalent of transaction fees, are also charged to purchasers to facilitate the transfer of Shards, these will usually be on the order of a thousandth of a cent, but may be more, and will be accounted for in the purchase documentation.
Delaware law applies. If the world ends (pandemic, cyberattack, blockchain meltdown, new SEC rule, etc.), we’re not liable—see Section 17 of our Terms and Conditions for complete details.
